Both as a composer and a performer, Scholsberg has always tried to push his own boundaries, in search for sounds that take him further, in search for freedom of expression in the purest sense. On this ongoing quest, he started studying with some great players/composers (Tim Langedijk, Jeroen van Vliet, Willem Kühne, Rick Peckham, David Fiuczynksi, Scott McGill, e.o.). Wanting to unravel some of the secrets of what is mostly referred to as “jazz”, his artistic research consisted of experimenting with repertoire from this genre, but all the more with repertoire of his own. New ideas emerged, new angles of approach in both playing and composing appeared. On stage, together with other musicians, is the best place to discover and learn! And so again, he gathered some kindred, gifted spirits around him to play and enjoy this unique concert, thus closing off an inspiring two years of Master of Music study.
